Turnip - March Theme {Process Post}

Good evening on the last day on March! : ')

The end of March brings the end of joining Patreon for the Turnip theme! Please buckle up because this one will be a confusing series of events.

I started sketching Turnip around January because I was determined that either March or April should be vegetable related months because of the springtime. It just happened to be March that I felt inspired to create Turnip.

Originally the Turnip theme was meant to be a gardening theme but I ended up focusing on Turnips. One day I was shopping for groceries when I saw some Daikon for sale. I took up the Daikon and in my head I suddenly thought, "man, Radishes are amazing. They have such good shape and are so cute when plucked from the ground. I love Radishes in Animal Crossing! My next theme will be Radish just like Animal Crossing!"

Yes, in my cycle of thinking, my brain had mixed up Daikon with Turnip with Radish! But during the time, it doesn't really matter because I have the visual image of what the theme should be which sorta became a weird fusion of radish leaves on a turnip's body. I think it is charming.

In my imagination, this a Turnip, that has Radish leaves and taste like Daikon. I kept on drawing. The girl was originally sketched for the love of gardening theme so I just need to adjust her colors to be more Turnip themed by adding more soft purples and whites. I want this idea to be based off the fruits of hard work. When you are caring so much for your plants, each one becomes a precious but delicious friend. The time it takes to cultivate a turnip makes it tastier when it is time for soup! Because of that, her design radiates positivity and joy. Her pin and postcard design have her hugging a large turnip and her sticker sheet is the process of waiting for her turnips to grow before cooking them~!

I really want to give my turnip faces because they look cuter this way but really, they are just turnips in the end.

Haha thank you so much for reading my little post and I hope you like your Turnip shipment when it arrives in the mail. I hope you all don't get mixed up with Turnips and Radishes like I did! >.<
