Thorns Arknights Drawing {Process Post}

I drew Thorns from Arknights. He is pretty much carrying my team now. I really like messy aloof characters who are softy inside and even though it's not in this picture he wears clothes that are falling off/random size <3333333 I love his design so much. * q*

This drawing was in my WIP file for so long; initially he was drawn for catalyst but I didn't have a reference for his back profile. So I gave up for a while until the fungimist event. I want to finish it! So for this drawing, the back is completely made up and not accurate.

When coloring this, I almost add too much shading so I cleaned it up a lot because I like the more simple coloring style. Still Thorn's outfit details still made it a pretty complex drawing ^^ i-is it even cell shade anymore haha? I look to find a balance between simple coloring and lots of textures. 

I wanted to do a bright yellow background because I always feel like solid color bright backgrounds are really cool. In the end, however, I prefer a neutral color because it feels less overwhelming. But I kept the bright color background as an option.
