Spring Fox {Process Post}

Hello and late post! Tonight, I am packaging January rewards but I got time to talk about my Patreon theme for February which is Spring Fox! As you have all seen, this is based off the summer coat for my Arctic fox character from last year.

Spring Fox is based on that outfit with a few updates since my style changed a little bit. First you may have noticed the addition of the scarf. Originally, the scarf was a nod back to the original Arctic Fox design. Since her winter outfit was icy blue, I wanted to give her a blue scarf to match. Unfortunately, the blue scarf didn't translate well as a pin design. A blue scarf blended too much with her darker color hair and it clashed too much with warm color hues. To keep the theme consistent, I warmed her scarf into a yellow and it helps the picture become lighter! 

The second is the addition of colorful flowers. In the sketch and concept, she is falling into a field of white flowers. But white feels really cold and doesn't cue fresh spring. I really want to bring the warmth and joy of life and blossoming freshness in this theme by creating pinks and yellows. The joy is also expressed in the pin design. Winter pin is not smiling but Spring pin is!
