Patreon Pricing Update (#3)

Hi!

I’ve recently updated the pricing for all Patreon tiers using their new pricing system. My original intention was to apply the updated pricing to new members only, but it unfortunately applied the price increase to both new and current members after one month. I sincerely apologize for this mistake.

Due to Patreon’s confusing settings and its limited order tracking capabilities, I’ve decided to move my Pin and Sticker Club over to my own website instead.

Current shop link for anyone who is curious: https://scdi3u-yh.myshopify.com/. The domain will be transferred to melanbread.com in the upcoming days (request submitted for the transfer already).

If you've already paid for May, please make sure to cancel your current subscription before June and re-subscribe through our new website on June.

There are several reasons behind this decision:

• With rising costs across the board (products, packaging, etc.), it’s no longer sustainable to keep the original pricing that I initially thought I was able to keep for those who have been subscribed with me over the years. USPS has also announced another postage increase this summer (T_T).
• By offering a 3-month subscription option through my site, I can help you save on shipping while keeping the overall cost lower than Patreon’s new pricing.
• Patreon charges an additional 8% fee on top of standard payment processing. By cutting out that fee, I’ll have more flexibility with prices and potentially offer more bonuses down the line. Every bit I save goes back to you, either through keeping my prices fixed for as long as possible or occasional extras.
• My own site allows for better tracking of orders and shipping, something Patreon unfortunately lacks.

What I'm Still Working On:

• I’m figuring out how to combine Secret Shop and subscription orders under one system to ensure everything ships smoothly and accurately. Combining orders with Hideawaymelon will still not be possible.
• I’m exploring options to enable sharing full-size images, in a subscriber-only format on my site and the ability for you to comment more seamlessly.
• I can continue making monthly style blogs that goes over my creative process and ideas through the new site that is accessible by members login only.
• Sticker bonuses to incentivize people to make the switch.

This transition has been in the works for a while, but the unintended Patreon price update accelerated the timeline.

Upcoming :

• This month: Current Patreon members will still be charged the old pricing.
• Next month: Will be charged the updated pricing if you remain subscribed on Patreon.
• New website: I’m aiming to have it live within the next week or so.

  • Flounder Tier - $11/month or $31.35 every 3 months
  • In-Tuna-tional - $24/month or $64.80 every 3 months 
  • Halibut - $13/month or $37.05 every 3 months

For Intl subscribers: please note that moving onto the new site means that I cannot collect VAT on your behalf. You may receive a VAT bill when the package arrives.

I'm sorry for the surprising news as I wanted to let everyone keep the original price, but the recent price update was necessary to cover increased shipping and packaging costs. I want to be transparent and let you know that the new prices didn’t fully account for the unexpectedly high tariffs which impacted the strawberry theme pins and stickers which made the rewards cost 2.5 times more than what I originally paid.

Creating original artwork is something I love and it wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s support. I’ll update you again once the new subscription site is fully migrated! >_<
