Midnight Witch {Process Post}

Process for my Midnight Witch drawing. 

The final version is very different from the original sketch. I pretty much had to redraw the entire bottom of her dress again. At first her design is based more on the hourglass sand rather than a clock. Her dress was more flowing and I was sprinkling it with sand looking sparkles. 

But as I draw, I felt that the contrast between her sharper edges of the hat and her fluffy style hair contrast too much with her flowing dress. So in the end, I changed the bottom and redraw it to match a more clock-like design. (Around the time where I redrew the lineart is when I had to draw references for her new outfit) 

When making the correct, it was very difficult to change the lineart so I had to draw on top of my original art. So in the end, it is almost like painting on top of the illustration on one layer >_< I'm really happy that it worked out in the end!
