Mid Autumn Festival
Happy Mid Autumn Festival! The holiday of mooncakes and family gathering. This year I want to show the beautiful glow of lanterns at night in this illustrations.
/ w/ A little piece of Chinese story for you. Mid autumn festival is very nostalgic to me. When I was younger, my parents will purchase lanterns at the nearby grocery market and we will run and play with each other when the sun sets, showing off who got the better lantern.
It is a sad sight to see as I go to the Asian market in my age and I only see mooncakes for sale as children in my generation in America are probably the last to celebrate it with lanterns. The childhood lanterns are all gone at least where I live. ; w; But we still celebrate eating mooncakes. I know as an American, while I still celebrate the mid autumn festival in my heart, only my parents kept it alive in person, getting the mooncakes and reminding me when the date approaches. I think for this reason, I still want to draw a simple illustration to celebrate the event.
