Genshin Pin Kickstarter Update {Process Post}

I got the Genshin pin mockups a few days ago and was super excited to share the preview!

Ta-da~

I am pretty happy with the samples! Out of all 40 designs, over half are good to go. 13 needs minor color modification while the rest needs some mold/more changes. I am surprised at how well most things printed out since they are about the size of a quarter and all the details are tiny!

Making Revisions + Timing

It's currently 12am at night and I'm working on color edits. Even though most of the pins turn out ok, it's hard to see how good it looks until you hold them in your hands.

Some behind the scenes on making adjustments:

Here are the biggest changes I am making to the designs.

Kaeya: Originally to simplify the design, I removed Kaeya's hair streak color but when I hold him in my hand, I feel that he really needs to make him feel like Kaeya. So for the next round of revisions, I am adding it back. I really think it gives him some charm. I also noticed that his hair color feels more green than blue so I will just make a slight edit to fix that.

Sucrose: Because Kaeya got his hair streak, Sucrose needs hers as well. For her design, I am changing the mold (extra cost ouch >.<) to add her little wings on her Vision. I thought she doesn't need it at first but it ended up feeling so plain. She really needs some color around that area.

Paimon: A pretty tough decision, I went back and forth whether to make the star on her head black or the metal. In the end, I chose to just change the star into the metal color because it stands out too much and it's a bit strange that her scarf is metal color but the star is not.

So after working on these changes. I will pay for another round of samples and it will take a month for the next batch to go. The designs are already pretty close but I am picky about it to make sure it looks right. ^ ^ /
