Dandelion {Process Post}

With the arrival of spring comes the theme of Dandelion, an OC I drew many years back! 

It's really neat to see how her design evolved and how she is still on my mind.
In Early 2019, I want to draw a girl who live in the dandelions. In her original design, she wears a baggy jacket and has a billowy yellow dress. Her hair is adorned with yellow (fresh) and white (seed) dandelions and she hugs a little fluffy dandelion pet! She is awkward and reclusive. 

Around late 2019, I revisited her again. My art improved a bit but I still cannot draw a good dandelion haha. 

Early 2021, I am working on my patreon and I suddenly thought about drawing my dandelion girl as a theme, but what will she look like now? My new dandelion girl looks more mature and modernized. I stop drawing as many frills and ruffles as before so instead of forcing myself to continue the old design, I gave her a new outfit.

Her original color scheme of yellows and greens was difficult to work with. My newer color preferences is geared more minimally so instead of adding fresh dandelions to her design, I removed it entirely and only focused on the dandelion seeds. Her mascot became smaller but more in quantity. Lately I am super into scarves and knit clothes in general so she wears that instead. The orange in her knit sweater is a nod to the original color scheme. I even changed her eye color (mostly because I don't want to add so much yellow into her design) I am finally happy to be able to print her out as a Patreon theme!
