CMYK ( + small Kickstarter Update)

I finished a sketch I did last month. When printing posters, you always use a CMYK color map (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (or Black)) and while I was printing out pins and checking on the colors, I had a flash of characters themed around it and here we are, haha.

Drawing this was really satisfying because since there is not too many colors, I can relax and not over detail the artwork. Each character gets one color but I must choose blacks and greys for the rest of the image. Limiting the colors help me think about contrast more, like, where do you hit the darker colors and the lighter colors to get the most impact on a drawing as well as where do you hit the bright neon colors so that it's not too overwhelming.

It became into a minor color study and super fun to draw! I think lately I tried too hard and stress about the details but going back to simple flat color takes a lot of stress away. ^^

My favorite color for this drawing is ironically yellow! Normally I hate yellows because they look too neon but so white that I can't see the colors well but for this drawing, I felt like I chose a good yellow..

Key color carries a sketchbook because she contains all the colors in the book.

For this drawing, I attached the line art because it was really fun for me to color so I hope to share that too. ^^

Small Kickstarter Update

Originally I plan to release the Kickstarter this week but the 35+ samples are taking a long time and our pin manu is taking a really long time to finish the samples for our other Genshin pin Kickstarter.

To make sure the timing works out and give our manu some time to work on the samples  I decided to delay the launch by a month to make sure that things are going to run smoothly. In the meantime, I will probably update social media once in a while as I get more things done such as sticker sheet designs and etc.

The good news from that is the new characters will probably make it to the kickstarter as well because of the delay.
