2021 Patreon Year End Summary and Reflections

Thank you for another year of Patreon. Ever since 2020 May, I can't believe how far we got. Patreon was a way for me to draw what I want to draw and print interesting things. / w/

This year I explored textured sticker paper, emboss foil, enamel patches and clear enamel pins. There was a lot of foil printing and I tried testing out holographic foil for stickers and postcards.

Some little behind the scenes thoughts about this year's Patreon:

Hardest Pin to Make?

Metal Goldfish was the hardest pin for me to design. It was my first time trying a more muted "sandy" color for pins. Enamel pins work better when the colors are brighter and simple but there are a lot of tonal golds on browns for Metal Goldish. I went back and forth with my manufacturer for a couple of days working on the proof.

Runner up is Terraform. Transparency was more tricky than I thought and hence, it took longer to produce and I messed up. They finally arrived and will be shipped soon though!!

Favorite Pin Design?

My favorite was Sakura Mochi! Her color turned out perfect compared to what I imagined in my head and drawing her sticker, postcard was so easy and smooth. Overall I didn't struggle and that's the best feeling. I did ordered too much of her because I like her design a lot (biased haha) so I still have a lot left!

Runner up is Vanilla. Personally for me, I drew her serious face on the pin design just right.

Favorite Sticker Club Merch?

The terraform sticker club was my favorite this month. When I saw the holographic finish, I thought it looked amazing. I kept a sample of it next to my table and look at it from time to time. I want to use it as inspiration moving forward for the standard I want to produce.

Next Year Merch Ideas?

I have a couple of month's of themes already lined up in waiting but I always want to hear your thoughts and ideas you want me to try next year. Your ideas always help me spark something I never thought about.

Thank you so much for this year. And to the next year we go.
