January 2025 Theme Announcement: "Retro Gaming"

January's theme is Retro gaming, featuring a girl who wants to play some classic video games in the 90s era.

Recently I feel like I'm approaching mid life crisis, so I started to reminisce about the games of my childhood. I watched Youtube videos of people holding "vintage" video game collections and seal games like they are relics and wondered...am I really that old now? LOL This theme is a call back to the charm of antiquated machinery, 8-bit graphics, and late night LAN parties of the late 90s.

This character is a representation of that time, playing games on clunky slow computers, drinking sodas and looking up guides on thick physical manuals. For this theme, I want to fit in small gaming references such as consoles, game cartridges and little video game glitch effects throughout. Her hairclip is actually an "8-bit" octopus, with 4 legs because 8 legs is sorta creepy. She wears gunnar glasses to protect her eyes and her messy hair is ruffled from her late gaming nights.

The "Retro Gaming" pin is a black nickel metal, 42.5mm x 39mm hard enamel pin, and features 2 butterfly clutches on the back so that it's extra secure.
