April 2023 Theme Announcement: "Bonsai"

I found time to draw a simple theme this month. I hope you remember my bonsai character because she is the theme for this month: "Bonsai"! I drew her one time for an poster illustration and I think her character is unique for a theme / w/ She is a beginner bonsai enthusiast who has a small collection of miniature trees.

For this theme, I thought it will be cute to pair the idea of the miniature size of bonsai trees with an sticker sheet of small human and big trees! The sticker sheet shows the many aspects of care of bonsai including: the snipping of overgrown branches, the small broom cleaning of the dirt around the trees, and also the idea of using wires to manipulate the tree into place.

Drawing this theme proves very challenging as I did SO MUCH research about what defines a bonsai tree as a bonsai tree; something that you can expect me to talk about when posting the full size postcard design later one!

The Bonsai pin is a rose gold metal, 41.248mm x 40.63 hard enamel pin, and features 2 butterfly clutches on the back so that it's extra secure.
